In this issue, we would like to share with you some news about an airship Hangar that has been renovated into Cultural Institution in Paris.
Paris
Hangar Y, a huge cultural complex at the crossroads of art, technology as well as nature, has opened: the Hangar Y was built as the world’s first airship hangar during the Paris Universal Exposition of 1878 but was abandoned for a long time after its doors were closed in 1981.
The Hangar Y building, with its eye-catching brick walls and steel frame reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower built in the same era, will be used in the future as an exhibition and other event space. The building is also surrounded by a 9-hectare park where the works of 19 artists are exhibited outdoors.
